What is Google Slides for PC app
Google Slides PC is a free presentation web application. It includes nearly all the capabilities of a traditional presentation program, such as Microsoft PowerPoint. It offers the benefit of cloud storage, which means that users’ documents are saved automatically, and maybe retrieved even if their hard drive or SSD fails.
Features
Google Slides features include:
- The ability to insert images, formatted text, animations, other media.
- The use of a variety of templates.
- The ability to edit transitions between slides.
- Collaborative editing for sharing between computers, devices, and other users.
Supported file types
Google slides support the .ppt, .pptx, .pptm, .pps, .ppsx, .ppsm, .pot, .potx, and .potm presentation file types.
Google Slides for PC app is a presentation editor in the Google Docs and Drive productivity suite. Google Slides are presented in a linear fashion, where slides appear in order (unless links or other transitions are added). It affords real-time collaboration between editors as well as different options for sharing the presentations.
Because the presentations are in the cloud and associated with a Google account, users and owners of the app can access them at any computer without having to carry around a flash drive. Additionally, a revision history is kept, which allows editors to access any version of the presentation in the past and also keeps a log of who made which edits. It can be converted to different formats (such as PowerPoint or PDF) and it also enables you to edit PowerPoint presentations.

Google Slides for Windows is a useful tool for students to develop group presentations as they can all work on the slides without needing to physically convene or email copies of the slides around the group. Presentations created in other tools, such as PowerPoint, can be uploaded into Google Slides and presentations can also be downloaded in multiple formats, including PowerPoint and PDF. While working on a presentation, any changes are recorded (including when they were made and by whom) and different versions can be compared to quickly see the changes, making it a useful way to check the contributions of individual students.
While the Google Drive suite is primarily intended for online use, by using the Google Chrome web browser or the mobile app it is possible to work with documents offline. When working offline, any changes will be automatically uploaded when the device connects to the network. This means that Google Drive is still usable when internet access is intermittent or unavailable, such as on trains and planes.
